Power of choice

I woke up in a “weird” mood today.  Maybe

it was the dream I had. Maybe it was do to the jet leg

and lack of sleep I was recovering from.

Whatever it was due to, I was stuck in a “weird” mood

this morning.

I let it linger for a little.

Then I saw on the news how a storm blasted

through Nebraska. Left the houses in shambles.

I realized that that the family who owned that house

had more of a reason to be in a “weird” mood.

I acknowledged that it was okay for me to be in this

mood, but I could not forget the power of choice.

I could choose to remain in this “weird” mood.

Or I could acknowledge this “weird” mood, and choose

instead to be grateful and happy.

I choose the latter.

So I am.

That is the power of choice.
