Money is not yours to begin with

Even though as a Muslim, I am required to give 2.5% of my wealth

back to charity, I don’t advertise how I give to charity. The main reason for

this is when I donate to charity, I do it in a manner that

when my right hand gives the left hand does not know.

I donate not so people think Ramin is such a kind guy, but

I do it for the sake of God.

But here is the real reason I give back to charity: The money

doesn’t belong to me.

Strange to say that, isn’t it?

It’s not that I have stolen anything. Any amount of money I have

I have worked for it.

So why is it I say the money doesn’t belong to me?

Very simple.

It belongs to God.

Even though we may think that any amount of money we earn is

due to our own hard work and effort, the truth of the matter

is the money or wealth we have is God’s blessing in our

lives. The money belongs to God.

That’s why when I donate, I treat the money as never

having been mine to begin with.

I give back what was rightfully entrusted to me to give

back.

Next time when you have an opportunity to donate, regardless

of the amount, just remember the money was never

yours to begin with.
