# 0108 Peace and Blessings Every Day
------------------------------------------------------------

The homeless flower man.
======================

When walking in DC, you will run into the
occasional homeless person, who will ask for
any spare change.

Some people will respond, while others just
walk on by probably having seen more than
their share of panhandlers.

I, too, have seen my share. In fact, the area that I walk
to go to work, I see the same three or four consistently.
One day, however, I saw some frames lined up on
the sidewalk and inside of the frames were pressed flowers.
Nothing real special from the initial glance, but as I walked
further down, I saw a cardboard box cut-out sign. The sign
read:

God made these flowers and God gave me the hands to
press these flowers to sale. I am homeless and wanting
to make a change in my life.

It was an Inner Peace and Blessings moment.

Here you have a person with nothing more than the clothes
he is wearing. He had no house. No car. No family as far as
I was aware. Nothing.

Yet, he worked with what he had. His hands and some flowers
he found somewhere.

This was inspiring. So many of us complain about where we are
in our lives or how little we have, when in fact we truly are blessed
with more than meets our eyes and more than we really need.

I walked past the homeless flower man, but then I stopped. Why
shouldn’t I tell this guy that what he was doing was so great?
I turned around and walked up to him and started the conversation
by asking, “So how much are you selling these for, Sir?”
